Our Story
We believe that every business owner deserves the right people in their corner.
Norbert Gonzales Jr. founded the Gonzales Group CPA Firm in 1980 with a simple idea: that growing businesses deserve more than a firm that shows up once a year to file and disappear. Armed with a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Houston and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Norbert built a practice around the books, taxes, payroll, and business formations that most CPA firms would not touch.
Over 40 years later, the belief that growing businesses deserve a real financial partner is still the foundation. The firm has grown, the team has evolved, and his daughter Alyx Gonzales has joined as a co-owner, carrying that same commitment forward.
Meet the Team
Norbert Gonzales, Jr.
Founder | CPA-Attorney
Norbert Gonzales is the founder and president of Gonzales Group, where his primary focus is firm management, client relations, taxation, and business consulting. A CPA with decades of experience, Norbert is a Member and Former Director of the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants and a Former President of the Board of Trustees at San Pedro Playhouse, San Antonio's oldest live theater. He is also Director at South Park Village, a low-income housing community in San Antonio.
Outside of work, Mr. Gonzales is an avid Spurs and UTSA Roadrunner football fan who holds season tickets. Mr Gonzales is a walker, traveler, reader and enjoys listening to podcasts while walking or relaxing. Among his travel highlights was an eight-day boat trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. He also has a passion for the arts, regularly attending live theater and concerts.
Alyx I. Gonzales
Co-Owner | Attorney
With nearly 10 years of experience at the firm, Alyx is committed to providing clear guidance, responsive service, and thoughtful solutions for her clients. She earned her undergraduate degree from Trinity University, followed by her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law and her LL.M. in Wealth Management from Texas A&M University.
Pamela G. Martin
CPA | Tax Manager
Pam is a CPA and Tax Manager at Gonzales Group, where she has been part of the team since 2010. With over 31 years of experience in the accounting field, Pam specializes in QuickBooks, financial statement preparation, and tax planning and preparation. She holds a BBA in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. Pam enjoys spending her quiet time reading and her not-so-quiet time with her grandchildren.
Cassandra Flores
Enrolled Agent | Tax and Accounting Manager
Cassandra graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M International University and is an Enrolled Agent. She is passionate about helping individuals and small businesses navigate their tax and accounting needs. Outside of work, Cassandra enjoys staying active through workouts, running, and hiking. She loves spending time with her family (dog included), serving at her church, and making the most of opportunities to be outdoors.
Roseann Gonzales
Bookkeeper
Rose Ann has been with Gonzales Group since 2016, serving as the friendly first voice clients hear when they call the office. Outside of work, she is all about family, from cookouts, birthday celebrations, fishing trips, Spurs games, volleyball, and walking the trails. She also participates in the Head for the Cure 5K every year.
Catalina Roberts
Admin
Catalina joined Gonzalez Group in 2025 as our Administrative Assistant, bringing nine years of military experience in human resources and software support with the Army. Born and raised in the San Antonio area, she is proud to call it home. Outside the office, she loves spending time with her son, going on adventures together, and enjoying theater, baking, and fiction audiobooks.
Our firm also includes dedicated payroll specialists and support staff who work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly for our clients.
